Getting Dirty

Man, it is hot, hot, HOT! But the girls and I didn't let that stop us from getting out there and getting our hands (and feet and knees and legs and hair) dirty. I got a bunch more herbs and a few flowers in the ground, lots of weeding done, but... Still no veggies.
That's one of those tasks grandma is going to have to be on River duty for. It's on the catch up list for the week. but, seriously, you should see this list. We'll see how it goes.
If all else fails, we'll have herbs!

Hot, sticky, dirty and just plain cranky.
Sounds like summer to me! How does your garden grow?

Dano and I planted forget-me-not seeds in empty yogurt cups a couple months ago, watched them grow up, and then finally just yesterday got them planted in a little hanging planter that hooks over our balcony railing. That's all I'm doing this year, but next year when I have a house and can do some real planting -- watch out! I really want to try raising some herbs, mint for sure and maybe some others. We'll see what else we have room for!

Your life looks just like mine!
oh yay! I can't seem to get enough planting of flowers, herbs and veggies. We've also been busy planning and beginning work on a tree fort kind of play area.

Awesome! I really want to do a bean tent or something like that for the girls.
