Meltdown Monday Giveaway

Comments are now closed on this giveaway.

Good morning and happy Monday to you! Ours is off to a good start this morning. Yay for no meltdowns!
Today our giveaway comes from a dear friend of mine, Rachel, who runs a little Etsy shop by the name of Hugger Mugger and blogs under the same name.
Her shop is full is crocheted hats for mama and baby and on into childhood. She also makes theme collaged notebooks and ... well, you will just have to check it out, because I assure you, there is something there for just about anyone!

This Cosy Life- Hi, Rachel, and welcome to Meltdown Monday! Tell us a little about yourself so we can know the person behind the work.

Rachel- Hi! I'm the stay-at-home mom of a 3-year-old boy and 16-month-old girl, and I have another baby on the way, due in December. I own an Etsy shop, Huggermugger, where I sell my original crocheted patterns, crocheted hats for all ages, collaged journals, and more. I'm also a free-lance writer, currently working on a YA western novel. I love reading books, watching movies, and trying out new cookie recipes. And I'm trying my hand at drawing up my own cross-stitch patterns, though I only have a couple of them done so far, and they're not quite ready to list in my Etsy shop.

This Cosy Life- What do you create and what are your favorite materials?

Rachel- I dabble in a lot of different crafts, but my favorite things to make are collaged notebooks and crocheted things. I'd say my favorite materials are paper and glue, plus any kind of nifty yarn that catches my eye and makes my fingers happy. I'm also a sucker for fabrics with interesting prints.

This Cosy Life- What inspires your creations?

Rachel- Most of my crocheted items are inspired by my kids -- either they need something or I want to make something fun for them. The first crochet pattern I ever designed was my sun hat pattern, and I came up with it because my son needed a hat for his first summer, but I didn't like any of the crochet patterns I found. My journals are usually inspired by either my writing, books, or movies.

This Cosy Life- How do you balance 'making' with mothering?

Rachel- One of the reasons I do a lot more crocheting than anything else is that I can do it while I'm sitting on the floor playing with my kids, or in the car on the way to church -- pretty much, I cram my crafting into spare moments when I'm not busy with everything else. Now that my son doesn't take a nap anymore, the only time I can do things like collages or drawing up cross-stitch patterns is after the kids are in bed at night.

This Cosy Life- Thank you so much for for joining us for Meltdown Monday!

Rachel- Thanks for having me :-)

Rachel is so very generously offering two crocheted baby sun hats today, in two different sizes.
The purple hat is 0-3 months and the blue is 3-6 months. Both hats are made from 100% pure Peruvian cotton that was kettle-dyed by hand in Uruguay. They're very soft and light-weight, perfect for hot summer days.
I will be drawing one winner for each hat, so, in your comment please let me know which you would prefer. (The last picture is my sweet River in the hat Rachel made for her when she was born.)

OK, so to enter leave me a comment. You can let me know how your Monday is going or, better yet, tell me how you beat the dreadful Meltdown Monday or just say hi. Whatever.

Yesterday's Winner
I didn't forget, I just was gone all at The Big Crafty (which went pretty well) and was off-my-feet-exhausted by the time I got home and so I showered and went straight to bed. So, without further ado, the winner is;

Cecelia

Congratulations, Cecelia! I will contacting you in just a bit.
