Signs of Summer

~A quintessential summer day. Join in if you like and share what summer is to you.~

Cobbler. Any kind will do.
It seems cobbler recipes and types vary from family to family. We make ours this way;

Set oven to 400.
Melt one stick of butter in a 13" pan.
Mix 2 cups self-rising flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 1/4 cup milk.
Mix 4 (or more) cups fruit with 1 cup sugar.

Pour the batter into the pan, over the butter and then pour the fruit over that.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until topping has risen over the fruit (mostly) and is golden.

Top with butter or vanilla ice cream if desired and enjoy the fruits of summer!

Oh yum!
Yummy!!! I haven't made cobbler this year. I am going to have to do it now!
My mom always did the "cup of recipe" in an 8x8. A cup of flour, a cup of sugar, a cup of milk and a cup of blackberries. This recipe is similar and it's baking in my oven right now.
