Happy Monday, all! Ours is off with cough and a sneeze and a swipe of a nose. That's right, we're ringing in the new season with style! It's now hit every last one of, though, Kaiya is on the mend (I write that while she coughs in the background).
So, today I think we'll make something warm, an ultra comfort food.... apple pockets. This recipe is courtesy of my friend Ulla, who's blogging over on the Natural Kids blog today, sharing one of her favorite baked goods from growing up in Germany, Apfeltaschen.

And while I'm in an apple-y mood (it is September, you know) I'm going to give away one of my apple sprite play sets. One winner will receive two little sprites and a basket!

OK, so to enter leave me a comment. You can let me know how your Monday is going or, better yet, tell me how you beat the dreadful Meltdown Monday or just say hi. Whatever.

For additional entries;

Hello!
I hope you are doing well! Meltdown Monday is going pretty well for us so far! Thanks for the chance to win some of your apple sprites! I recently added them to my daughter's birthday wishlist! And I was wondering, is there a recipe for those yummy looking veggies (that went into puff pastry) in one of your previous posts?

Thanks again! Take care!

Peace,
Janie Bird

Best wishes,

oh we'd love to win these :-)
I shouldn't enter since I already won one of your lovely gnome/sprites. But I can't resist!

Today has been blissfully meltdown free (oh sure, there have been bumps, but no meltdowns). I'm reading The Happiness Project and it's really opening my eyes to a lot of things. I'd like to think that my mindfulness (and a fair amount of outside time) is helping control the meltdowns.
AH! Love this!
We had a bit of a meltdown this morning, but the rest of the day is going better. We decided to start over again. Thank goodness it is nice outside~!
Hi Julie,

My older's Fall curriculum is Apples! Hooray, we just read the book, The Apple Cake, and it is out on display. And I can't think of anything better than an Apple Sprite!

There's got to be something in the air making it all go cuckoo today, but I am most pleased with myself that I loosened my grip on the day and loosened it's grip on me, and I have remained neutral!

Thanks,

Betsy
Very very cute!
We've break our monday by going to the honey factory just next to our house. They make an awesome hydromel and we found they were also doing little chocolate that are to-die-for! It made my day.
These are so DARLING! They are just too cute!

No meltdowns here today. The eldest was sick and stayed at home for a day of relative rest - she crafted with ribbons next to mama's sewing machine. . .
Glad you, or rather a little one, is on the mend! Sick is no fun! One meltdown so far...double one that is, but it was better as soon as they got lunch in their tummies!
Love your little apples! So wish there was apple picking in TX, but I've had no luck finding any near here...oh well! Little apple sprites seem like the perfect fally apple thing :-)
Thank you!
Hi! Saying hello from Niko & Nonnie on this meltdown Monday. These apple sprites are beyond adorable!! The colours, cosy feel ... everything is just spot on! I really love your shop and am so glad I stopped by your blog today! I am happy to tell you that meltdown has been avoided! Took my big girl to kindergarten, followed by a leisurely breakfast + steaming cups of coffee with my husband and little boy at a local cafe...Grocery shopping is done, fridge stocked with produce and other school week necessities...now sitting at the computer typing this with our tuxedo cat lying across my arms. Sending get well wishes to scare the sniffles away! Ariana
I already won a lovely little peg person here, though not one of yours, so if you don't want to enter me, don't! I don't want to be greedy. On the other hand, our peg fairy could use some friends...

Anyway, we're on a huge apple kick here too, and those Apfeltaschen look sehr appetitlich! I think I'll try them later this week. Thanks for sharing :-)

Only one meltdown today, an argument over who got to read "Go, Dog, Go!" next. So far, so good!
Sweeeeet! Funny, I was thinking of your autumny sprites during my lunch today. I was doing some knitting and my mind was wandering to peg people...which is where your gorgeous creations sprung to mind. So THIS is exciting! And my Monday? Well, it was a Monday. Four more days to go until the weekend!
And I'm a happy This Cosy Life member :-)

I hope you are all well soon!!!!
Oh I've been totally eyeing these, they are SO adorable! The apple pockets sound so good to this pregnant lady, seriously like I need them now LOL.
These are o so cute!! We would love to win... As for Monday meltdown? Ah... it was just "one of those days"... laundry laundry and weekend clean up! :)

sorry you are battling the sickness. :( we are in week four of school and i have already missed 8 days between the three of us!! my children chose to have their meltdowns at school yesteday so i just got to hear about it afterward. :/ i adore your little apple set and would be so honored to have it come and live here. ;)
Oh wow! I love your little apple sprites. So perfect for harvest play!

Sorry to hear your household has a cold. We have not yet had our first of the season....now that my eldest is in preschool I am resigned to the fact that it is only a matter of time.

And how refreshing to share Monday challenges with other Mamas. We definitely feel Mondays around here. Missing Daddy begins the moment my girls wake up. By dinnertime we're all in tears (Mama included some days). Yesterday our meltdown came courtesy of my oldest. I believe the problem was her little sister wanted to stand next to her. sigh.

Thanks for the visit. You have a lovely blog. I'll be back again soon :)
Oh, my goodness! The apple sprites are adorable!
Oh yes please! You are making them cuter by the minute!

These are just too precious. I'm loving the apple theme! We're going to try the felt apples today!
I would love to know how to make these apple sprites. I can imagine the play that these sprites would be involved in with my three girls. Such fun!
