Signs of Summer

Homemade ice cream. I started making it this year because Kaiya is allergic to dairy. And, I must say, mine is way better than store-bought dairy free ice cream.
Good to the last slurp!

The farmland that surrounds us is summer to me: corn, hay bales, farmers at work, cows grazing!

Summer to me is barefeet and sundresses; vegetables and flowers and the dirty beautiful hands that tend to them; babies running through sprinklers and their giggles filling the luscious air; drives down country roads with the windows down, a beach bag packed with towels, books, water and fruit; and of course lemonade and barbecues enjoyed on the deck while the sun sets....ahhhh....summer ♥'in

Oh, and I somehow forgot "super salads" and wine...but isn't that a given, along with the words 'summer' and 'barbecue' ?
