The Flu

We're being visited by the flu. Just Kaiya, at the moment, and let's hope it stays that way. Though, it's been very difficult keeping little sisters away today. They want to climb in bed with her and try to sip her tea.

I'm reaching into my 'Kitchen Apothecary' pinboard to find some herbal remedies to deal with all the aches and pains and fever.

A rub for easy breathing.

Tumeric chai tea to attack the virus. She actually really liked the taste of this. Which is great because apparently tumeric is a super spice.

Of course, the little girls had to have tea, too. Chamomile, anyone?

But most importantly, plenty of rest. She's sleeping now, and I hope all night.

We've gotten by, so far, with only using the nebulizer twice. Asthma tends to lurk nearby when this little one gets sick. So, if you have a moment, I would be ever so grateful if you would send some positive, healing vibes this way. Hope you're all well, my friends!

Oh mom. I am hoping for a speedy recovery.
Do you have Rosemary Gladstar's Herbal Recipes book? I can look for some additional flu things in my copy and email them to you if you'd like. *hugs* to you and healing thoughts to Kaiya!

I do have it but I've not really taken the chance to sit down and pour through it. I open it up randomly and feel just a tad overwhelmed! I need an herbal guru. :) I do have a friend that can identify just about any ol' weed we come across and I grill her whenever we get together at the park.
I think we're in the clear now with the flu. At least, I hope it doesn't rear it's ugly head in another one of us. I probably should take the time with that book to get what I need for these common ailments and have them ready.

Sorry to hear that Kaiya is sick, I'm sure all your recipes and TLC will have her right as rain in no time. Thanks for all the links in this post, I found them all very interesting and will definitely by trying them out when we next get a visit from the 'flu'!!
