Still Easter Crafting

I made a Blossom Fairy last night, finished her with the hair and crown this morning. Isn't she precious?! I used this great tutorial from Echoes of a Dream. I'm planning to hang her from some branches in the Easter garden I hope we'll have time to make. Her dress is from a piece of white wool felt that I painted with watercolors. After doing the same with the puppet I made I just had to try it on some felt. Now, true, this wouldn't hold up for anything that needed to be washed like the felt appliqued shirts I made for Zoe's birthday, but for toys and nature table things like this I think it will hold up just fine.

And in case you missed the tutorial I shared yesterday on the Natural Kids blog, here are some lavender filled necklaces I made for the girls. These whip up so fast and they're going to fit perfectly in our Easter eggs.

OK, show me your Easter crafts! I want to see what everyone is doing!

I have been making tiny bunnies! http://eandhab.blogspot.com/2012/03/tiny-bunnies-...

Later this week, it will be egg-dying, bird-making, and basket-weaving!

Your maiden looks beautiful! I have some wool locks that I really want to use for hair - but I'm so afraid of sewing it on poorly.

Melissa, I needle felted mine on. I suppose it would depend on the purpose of what you're making... perhaps if it's meant for a lot of play sewing would be better. But for something that's mostly decoration needle felting the locks makes it really easy to get it just right. :)

It is so pretty and sweet. That idea of watercoloring is awesome, and I will definitly try it. Thanks for sharing this simple tutorial.
I didn't do much Easter craft this year. We did an egg hunt on Ostara and I managed to make 2 little needlefelted bunny. I will post them soon now that my new blog is up :)

You're very welcome. :) I love how the watercolor felt came out. I

We made a little fairy house out in the garden. We gathered stones to give them a place to sit. and made a pathway from the stones we gathered. we made yarn Easter egg garland and did some marbleized eggs. Last night before Lily went to bed we went out and called all the neighborhood fairies to come see their new home. I asked Lily how her day was. She told me she had a lot of fun making the fairies a home. We have never done Easter eggs so, she really liked that.
She's so sweet! Thanks for the tip about needlefelting the hair, I know I wouldn't have thought of that!
I've been doing a bit of decorating around the house, Beatrix Potter's characters are our "theme" this year so I have been making paper crafts mostly. Decoupaged eggs and stand up cut outs. My Mom just gave me some fabric so I may have a part two for this post soon! http://madebyjoey.blogspot.ca/2012/04/creating-sp... I haven't done our nature table yet so I'm thinking of sewing a few of Collen's felt bunnies and needlefelting a rabbit!
Thanks for the inspiration, I had better get busy!

Lovely as always Julie. I am curious as to how you made the little garland around the blossom fairy's head?
As for me I am knitting away on the second Bloom tunic, but sadly my vision for the two girls in matching handknits will not happen for Easter :( Ans in future I will start the bigger one first as the baby is too little to care if she has a Mama knit her Easter basket or not.

Hi Ronnie,
I simply cut up tiny squares of the same felt and threaded them. I was wanting to knit something for each of my girls, too. But sometimes we've just got to accept that that can't happen (and remaining sane, too) and let it go. I'm happy with our Easter goodies, anyway. :)

Finally posted pics of our Easter wreath on my FB page. And we're dying eggs tomorrow :-) And we made Easter cards to send to lots of people!
